Fredtech: Tech Tour
Description
2015 promises to be a breakout year in technology and innovation for our region. Join FredTech on March 10 as we spotlight emerging capabilities and pathways that are sure to accelerate the region’s transformation
Tour the University of Mary Washington’s Information and Technology Convergence Center
The ITCC is a one-of-a-kind building at UMW—an “academic commons” where a variety of technology, information, and teaching resources come together in an environment that is modern, energetic, and vibrant.
Gauging the Knowledge Economy
A knowledge economy continually increases the production and consumption of knowledge and intellectual capital. A city that experiences sustained high levels of production and consumption of intellectual capital is referred to as a thriving knowledge city. FredTech and Innovation welcomes Dr. Denise Bedford, Goodyear Professor at Kent State University, Information Architecture and Knowledge Management, to discuss her research to develop and implement a knowledge index to track the maturity of knowledge cities, and Fredericksburg’s potential as a thriving knowledge city.
Incubating Innovation
The UMW Center for Economic Development’s EagleWorks Business Incubator is the region’s premier resource for enabling small businesses and entrepreneurs through early-stage growth. Come learn about this valuable resource and hear from its staff how EagleWorks…works!
State of FredTech
Meet the expanded Board of Directors, and hear how FredTech is helping nurture the region’s current and future innovation workforce.
